Black Irish

Description

Odds is part Irish, and has always been fascinated by Irish music’s rapidamente guitar leads that morphed into American bluegrass. Guitars lend themselves to this sort of music, and so in this piece, Bodkin has taken the solo line on a 12-string guitar, rather than the usual 6-string. He adds a basic rhythm line with a second 12-string, and then layers strings beneath it, and a cymbal, to give the feeling of a happy folkloric dance.
